Shaft Construction

Shaft construction is a crucial aspect of underground tunneling projects, before determining the construction method, minimum shaft dimensions are determined based on the final structure to be constructed or space needed for launching a tunnel boring machine (TBM). Shaft construction requires deep excavation safety controls and a watertight shaft support system to prevent water from entering the shaft. Different shaft support methods are available, and the selection is based on the presence of groundwater and other ground conditions.

Microtunneling

Our state-of-the-art microtunneling machines, powered by TBM German leader Herrenknecht, feature the latest in VMT-guided technology, making them the perfect curved jacking with all-rounded for efficient and safe tunneling. Our machines can operate in a diameter range of 1 to 4 meters and are capable of working in various ground conditions, from soft clay to granite rock. We believe that microtunneling is the future of construction engineering, and we're excited to offer you a comprehensive range of tunneling systems to meet all your project requirements. Choose from standard or mixed ground cutter heads, or rock cutter heads with disc cutters, to ensure maximum precision and accuracy. Experience the future of tunnel construction with ST Tunnel, where excellence meets innovation.

Earth Retaining Stabilising Structures (ERSS)

We prioritize sustainability and protecting our environment and communities. By utilizing sheet pile retaining structures that can be reused, we contribute to reducing waste and the carbon footprint, helping to create a greener and more sustainable future. Our team of experts specializes in ERSS design and construction, equipped to handle the unique challenges of each project. Our design process considers factors like soil type, groundwater level, and environmental impact to create sustainable structures. At the heart of our work are innovation and sustainability. Our team continuously explores new techniques and technologies to provide superior results for our clients.

01

Design For ERSS/

Shaft Construction

Designing earth retaining stabilizing structures (ERSS) and shaft construction involves evaluating site conditions such as soil and rock conditions and groundwater levels, selecting an appropriate method such as sheet piles, soldier pile and lagging or diaphragm walls, calculating required dimensions and capacity, developing a detailed design plan, obtaining necessary permits and approvals, and monitoring construction progress.

02

Soil Investigation

Our soil investigation service includes site investigation, drilling boreholes, collecting and analyzing soil samples, and preparing a report with recommendations for infrastructure design. By assessing soil physical and chemical properties, we can identify potential issues and provide appropriate design and construction methods to ensure infrastructure safety and stability.

03

ERSS

Our team of experts specializes in designing and installing ERSS that can resist lateral pressures from soil and water. From temporary excavation support systems to permanent retaining wall structure, with the use of sheet pile retaining structures that can be reused, we strive to provide eco-friendly alternatives for tunneling projects, preserving natural resources and reducing environmental impact.

04

Ground Improvement

Ground improvement methods such as jet grouting, compaction grouting, deep soil mixing and fissure grouting, to increase soil strength, stiffness and permeability. Grouting mainly serves to improve the water-tightness, strength and stability of the surrounding ground when it is used in a tunneling project.

05

Shaft Construction

We specialise in shaft construction, which involves creating a vertical passageway through the ground serving as the location at which all material enters and exits. They vary in size and depth, and their design and construction are key to the successful completion of any tunnelling project.

06

Microtunneling

Microtunneling, a method involves excavating a tunnel underground and installing a pipe or conduit using Herrenknecht Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) guided by a laser or VMT-guided system. Microtunneling is typically used in urban areas to replace traditional open-cut methods which resulting  space constraints or environmental concerns. It is a precise, efficient, and safer method of installing underground infrastructure with minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

07

Geotechnical Instrumentation & Monitoring

We provide instrumentation and monitoring services that involve the installation of sensors and equipment to measure and analyze the behavior of structures and the surrounding soil or rock. This service is critical for ensuring the safety and longevity of infrastructure and can help prevent catastrophic failures and reduce maintenance costs.

Our Solutions

We pledge to always put the community first. That means being leaders in environmental, social and economic sustainability.

We strive to design our tunnels carefully and responsibly, in order to build a better and greener future. We are committed to reducing carbon emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change. We also make sure to reuse building materials as much as possible, and diligently manage waste throughout the construction process. Ultimately, sustainability is at the core of our tunnel construction, and we are proud to be part of a more responsible future.
